Job Purpose To oversee the daily Workers’ Compensation Insurance (WCI) activity and to ensure compliance with state and university guidelines in administering the University’s self-insured WCI program.
Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure. High school diploma or GED equivalent and 7 years workers’ compensation experience. A Type 03 Texas adjuster licensure within three months from beginning date of employment.

Develop and supervise employees

Oversee the daily management of claims by reviewing and adjusting WCI claims in accordance with established policy and applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Commission rules.

3.

Prepare for and participate in administrative hearings in the dispute resolution process.

4.

Oversee the activities of the third party medical audit company.

5.

Assist in training area component representatives, regarding filing requirements.
