Job Purpose To manage claims in a cost-effective manner to ensure proper care to injured employees.
Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure. High school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of 4 years workers’ compensation experience. Type 03 Texas Adjuster license or eligibility for licensure within three months of beginning date of employment.

Description

1.

Adjust and manage Worker’s Compensation Insurance (WCI) claims in accordance with established U. T. System policy and applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Texas Worker’s Compensation Commission (TWCC) rules.

2.

Represent U. T. System at administrative hearings by reviewing and researching claims, preparing documentation, and presenting U. T. System position before TWCC.

3.

Respond to telephone inquiries from attorneys, health care providers, injured workers, TWCC staff, and auditing companies.

4.

Provide WCI training to component institutions.

5.

Analyze medical documents and correspondence and take appropriate action based on the analysis.
