Research sources to identify federal funding opportunities for the research function at U.T. components. Develop and maintain relationships and knowledge of component institutions. Position located in Washington D.C.
Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure. Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience.

Description

1.

Facilitate representation of System component institutions in the federal environment. Maintain contact with component personnel, other universities and various federal officials. Coordinate recognition events for elected officials by the Board of Regents, the Vice Chancellor for Federal Relations (VCFR) and component presidents. Inform the university community of mutual interest opportunities within the U.T. System.

Research sources, such as the internet, to identify needs and federal funding and policy opportunities for System component institutionss.

Assist the Vice Chancellor for Federal Relations (VCFR) with the development of goals, the annual operating plan, and annual strategic plan and prepare budget forecasts for the Office of Federal Relations. Gather input from U.T. component institutions.

Assist the VCFR and AVCFR in representing the System by maintaining working knowledge of component institutions and meeting researchers and administrative officials at components on a regular basis. Advise the VCFR if advocated research programs are not consistent with U.T. System priorities or if there are funding cuts or other issues.

5.

Coordinate visits by federal officials to component institutions. Act as liaison to federal officials on inquiries to System Administration regarding general information about campuses, policies, programs and admissions information. Provide feedback to VCFR and federal officials.
