System Administration Compensation Philosophy

To attract, motivate, and retain people with the talent needed for The University of Texas System Administration (UT System) to successfully perform its mission. UT System believes cash compensation should be based on market rates in the relative external labor markets and on internal job value while keeping in mind its fiduciary responsibilities of the funds entrusted to it by the Public, the Legislature, and the Board of Regents.

Employees should be rewarded for performance based on level of performance.

Compensation should be administered fairly and equitably across all departments.

Cash compensation is only one element of the total rewards provided to employees in exchange for their talent, time and efforts.
