Inclement Weather

Due to the current changeover of the phone system at System Administration, we will not be able to broadcast a message via voice mail or AUDIX. Instead, we have elected to provide official closing and late start announcements related to inclement weather through the following three methods:
- Via GRP-Everyone email;
- Via the bulletin board. Employees who do not have access to email may call 499-4445 to access a taped message. Please note, bulletin board access is limited to one caller at a time. Be patient if you are unable to get through initially; and
- Via local TV news channels and radio stations.
The GRP-Everyone email and bulletin board posting will be initiated by 6:00 AM.
Announcements concerning closure of U. T. Austin do not always apply to U. T. System Administration. The official decision to close offices located in Austin does not necessarily apply to employees whose work locations are outside of the Austin metropolitan area. Closure decisions for those offices will be made by the onsite departmental managers in consultation with the appropriate officer. Please be sure to check the sources listed above when we experience inclement weather. The taped message on the bulletin will be updated as necessary.
How can you help? When you learn that the offices are going to be closed, make a call to others within your office to share the information. Initiating a phone tree is another method to ensure that all employees within your department receive timely notification.
