What is the MLDP? |

The Management & Leadership Development Program is an instructional program designed to provide an opportunity for employees to develop management and leadership
skills. |

Who is eligible? |
| |
A. |
All participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Full-time
employee with a minimum of six months UT System Administration service
- Consistently
achieves a high level of performance, recognition, and quality in
completing assigned job responsibilities
- Exhibits talent, management and/or leadership potential, and capability to assume
more complex and comprehensive duties
- Acts with
integrity
and professionalism and treats others with respect
- Results oriented
and shows interest in continuous learning and
self-improvement
Eligibility criteria will vary based on specific
goals established for each class of participants. Currently, there
are three programs
available within MLDP. Each of these programs will be offered
on a rotating basis.
- MLDP - Advancement in Professionalism - Degreed professional, technical,
or other career-track employees who may not currently manage others
- MLDP - Leading Through Collaboration and Teamwork - Employees who
may supervise others on a day-to-day basis, but are not classified
or titled as managers – and administrative and support employees
who demonstrate commitment and the potential for greater responsibility
- MLDP - Managing for Excellence - Managers of either a functional
area or a large project

How do I apply to the MLDP? |

The application can be completed and submitted via email as a Word document.
The application can be found at http://www.utsystem.edu/ohr/mldp/MLDPApp.doc.
Applications wil be forwarded to your liaison. |

What if I want to make an addition or change to the MLDP application
I have already submitted? |

Be sure to save your application as a Word document until you are completely
satisfied with your responses. Then forward to OES by the designated deadline. |

How often are MLDP Classes held? |
| |
A. |
Each of the three MLDP Classes will be held on a rotating basis. The classes with larger potential participant pools may be held more frequently. It is anticipated that one class will be held during each fiscal year, depending upon workload and conditions at System Administration. |

What if I am not selected? Should I reapply for the next appropriate
class? |

A. |
Absolutely! Non-selection does not indicate that you are not eligible
for the program. The selection process is designed to assure classes that
are well balanced, with participants from a variety of departments and
functional disciplines. |
