The University of Texas Fire and Life Safety Advisory Group (FALSAG) is comprised of representatives of the Institutions and various offices of The University of Texas System (the UT System). Each Institution is represented by the individual with institutional responsibility for fire and life safety.
The FALSAG mission is to provide advice and recommendations to The University of Texas System (the UT System) Environmental Health and Safety Advisory Committee, to support the development and implementation of appropriate programs in furtherance of fire and life safety. To serve as a mechanism for a free exchange of information and cooperation among the Institutions and various offices of the UT System with fire and life safety issues. The FALSAG will support and facilitate cooperative efforts related to fire and life safety that are beneficial to the Institutions and the UT System. These efforts will include the dispersal of information relative to: compliance with fire and life safety codes, standards, regulations, and safety education and training programs in order to promote a safe work place and environment for faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors.
- Emphasize and enhance communication and cooperation among the Institutions and various offices of the UT System concerning fire and life safety issues
- Review, evaluate and recommend regulatory code and compliance strategies
- Encourage and promote the hiring of well-qualified fire and life safety personnel
- Identify, recommend and pursue opportunities to facilitate collaborative efforts that will benefit the Institutions and the UT System
