
First Report
All losses resulting from physical damage to property, including consequential loss of income, valued over $25,000 must be reported to The University of Texas System Office of Risk Management immediately using the First Report of Loss Form.
If a loss is expected to exceed $250, 000, the U.T. System institution must report the loss to one of the parties listed below and follow up within 72 hours with the aforementioned First Report of Loss Form.
In addition to this required notice, the institution must:
- Protect the property from further damage
- Notify the police of loss by theft
- Contact BMS Catastrophe, Inc. (800) 433-2940 for restoration and recovery services
- Immediately organize the damaged and undamaged personal property. DO NOT DISCARD ANY PROPERTY
- Make reasonable, necessary repairs to protect the property and keep an accurate record of repair expenses
- Furnish a complete inventory list of all damaged or destroyed property insured under the CPPP. Inventory information provided must give complete quantity, cost, actual cash value and amount of loss claimed
- Provide bills, receipts and related documentation for damaged or destroyed property under the CPPP
