In 2007, Risk Control sponsored 29 training sessions that were attended by over 600 people throughout the System. Sessions included:
- Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher
- Hazard Waste Identification & Management
- Shipping Dangerous Goods by Mail
- Plan Review Training based on NFPA 101
- Fifteen Passenger Van Training
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Training
Risk Control manages System-wide non-exclusive contracts for the handling of hazardous, medical and radioactive wastes as well as services for spill control and emergency response, certification of biological safety cabinets and disaster recovery. These contracts yield an estimated cost savings of at least $75, 000 a year.
