UT System Workshop
|
October 25, 2005
- SACS has published new principles which are not yet well understood by reviewers or institutions.
- We have heard that as much as 60 percent of the recommendations SACS makes on reaffirming an institution's accreditation will be based on its "institutional effectiveness" plan.
- The UT System would like to convene institutions that have recently or will soon undergo a SACS comprehensive evaluation, share knowledge and experience.
- What are current/anticipated SACS requirements for reaffirmation of accreditation (e.g., Institutional Effectiveness plan, Quality Enhancement Plans, learning assessment, etc.)?
- What is recent UT System institution knowledge and experience about new principles?
- What are or will UT System institutions doing to meet these requirements?
- This is always an iterative process for the accrediting agency and institutions. Together, we can share best practices and speed up our learning.
- How are UT System institutions aligning their preparation for SACS with their internal strategic and/or long-term planning processes and with the System’s Compact Process?
- What are some examples of new approaches to planning among UT System institutions?
- Provosts / chief academic officers
- Administrators responsible for leading SACS preparation
- Administrators responsible for leading institutional strategic planning and Compact development
- Faculty representatives
- UT System administration representatives
