IN THE OFFICE

  • An employee who works at a phone is provided with a voicemail message box. 
    • The voicemail system is called Audix.  There are individual voicemail message boxes and many departments have one or more group boxes.  They are password protected.  You can have your voicemail forward to our email system.  Contact the Support Desk to set up this service. More information on Audix
  • Each phone has the ability to conference with up to six people. More information on creating a conference call
  • All employees are provided with an email account and electronic calendar.  The email service used by UT System Administration is Outlook.  You can access your email on your computer, from anywhere in the world through the internet and a web browser or through your PDA or Smart Phone.
  • All employees can use Web or Audio Conferencing. 
  • New Computers are provided annually to approximately one third of the staff through the Computer Refresh program.
  • Printing, Scanning, Copying and Faxing is done through the Printer Rightsizing devices in every area.  The Support Desk can assist you in accessing devices and managing the security of things sent to public printers. More information on the Rightsizing program.

 

AT HOME AND ON THE ROAD

  • No standard PDA or SmartPhone device is recommended. However OTIS encourages the use of device that run Windows Mobile or a Blackberry due to licensing issues. Support services are available for integration with mail and calendaring 
  • All employees can purchase software for their home machines at the educational discount, a large saving.  Security software is also provided free of charge so you can keep your home machines safe. 
  • All employees can remotely access the UT System Administration network. 
    • If you are using a UT System Administration computer, you can access the network through the VPN. Contact the Help Desk for instructions.
    • You can use a personal computer to access the network through Terminal Server. You must have a UT login and password to access this document.
