System-wide and System Administration Internal Policies

 

All system-wide and System Administration Internal policies as defined in INT155. The University of Texas System Policy Library is the official repository of all current system-wide and System Administration internal policies.

  • INT124 - Information Resources Use and Security Policy
    Assets of The University of Texas System must be available and protected commensurate with their value and must be administered in conformance with federal and state law and University of Texas Regents’ Rules. Measures shall be taken to protect these assets against accidental or unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction, as well as to assure the availability, integrity, utility, authenticity and confidentiality of information.
    This policy is the foundation for each institution’s computer security program. It provides institutions authority to implement supporting policy, practice standards, and/or procedures necessary to implement a successful Information Security Program, so long as they do not conflict with this policy.

    It is the policy of The University of Texas System to allow telecommuting on a discretionary basis, when telecommuting enhances the overall productivity of the work unit.

  • UTS111 - Statement of Operating Policy Pertaining to Non-Disclosure of Videoconference Information
    Personnel involved with any aspect of the production of administrative meetings conducted by video conference for The University of Texas System are required to maintain the confidentiality of information obtained as a consequence of their involvement in a video conference.
  • UTS112 - Statement of Operating Policy Pertaining to Videoconference Taping
    Video or audio taping of an administrative (non-instructional) meeting conducted by videoconference for The University of Texas System is prohibited except in specific circumstances set forth in this Policy.  When tapes are made of a videoconference, the participants must be notified of the taping and personnel involved in the taping must notify the participants of the meeting about the taping and follow consistent standards in managing and maintaining such tape.
  • UTS115 - Records and Information Management & Retention Policy
    The University of Texas System recognizes the need for orderly management and retrieval of all official records and a documented records retention and destruction schedule congruent with all state and federal laws and related regulations. All official records (paper, microform, electronic, or any other media) will be retained for the minimum periods stated in the institutional Records Retention Schedule as approved by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Texas State Auditor's Office in compliance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 441. After a specified period of time, official records must be disposed of in a manner that is consistent with, and systematically carried out in accordance with prescribed records and information management guidelines and procedures.
  • UTS165 - Information Resources Use and Security Policy
    It is the policy of The University of Texas System (U. T. System) to:
    1. Protect Information Resources based on risk against accidental or unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction and assure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of Data;
    2. Appropriately reduce the collection, use or disclosure of all social security numbers contained in any medium, including paper records;
    3. Apply appropriate physical and technical safeguards without creating unjustified obstacles to the conduct of the business and Research of the U. T. System and the provision of services to its many constituencies in compliance with applicable state and federal laws
  • Privacy Policy
    The University of Texas System Administration maintains the UT System Administration web site as a public service. The privacy policy applies only to members of the general public and is intended to address concerns about the types of information gathered from the public and how that information is used.
