Business Applications
Business Applications and Consulting work consists of the infrastructure, services, and specific applications developed to increase the efficiency and accuracy of business functions performed by System Administration. Collaboration
The Collaboration work includes support of online technologies used to encourage the sharing of information by multiple entities. Related meeting services encompasses the technology involved in producing a meeting whether at a physical location or electronically via videoconference or the web. These services are provided to internal departments, other UT institutions, partners, vendors and the public. Visit the Collaboration page.
Records and Document Management
The Office of Technology and Information Services is charged with define the records management program at System Administration, approving record retention schedules for the UT Institutions and acting as a resource for the institutions on records management matters. Security
The goal of the information security program is to attain compliance with State and Federal regulations, help manage risks to University information resources, minimize impacts from IT security incidents, and support the business processes and departmental missions of the University of Texas System Administration. Customer Support
Through the Support Desk and Desktop Support staff the customer support service works to provide technology support for System Administration. This support covers a wide variety of hardware, software, and support services including computer hardware, printers, software applications, telephone and voicemail (moves, adds, changes), and PDA support. Telecommunication and Network
The date and telephone network staff is responsible for designing, building, operating, supporting, and managing connectivity at U.T. System Administration. This work includes all network connectivity components and services, firewalls, remote-access devices, servers, backup power equipment, KVM network equipment, and core applications (i.e. E-Mail, DNS, Storage, Remote Access, SFTP, etc.).
