Section III

DEFINITIONS

 

The following defined terms are in addition to the definitions and terms of the Texas Transportation Code which shall apply on System Administration property to the extent they are not in conflict with these regulations.

 

COMPLEX All the property, buildings, structures, parking lots, (owned or leased) and thoroughfares under the control of the System Administration.

 

DIRECTOR OF POLICE The Director of Police of U.T. System. The office designated to issue permits and enforce parking regulations.

 

DRIVER Every person who drives, operates or is in actual physical control of a vehicle.

 

EMPLOYEE Every person who is employed at least twenty (20) hours a week for a period of at least four and one-half (4 1/2) months by the System Administration.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE Includes automobiles, buses, trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, motorbikes, mopeds and bicycles.

 

OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR, BUSINESS AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES The System Administration office designated to collect parking fees and fines. Also responsible for maintaining Complex parking facilities and securing necessary off-site parking.

 

PERMITS Parking permits issued by the Director of Police.

 

U.T. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION OR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION U.T. System Administration at Austin, Texas.

 

U.T. AUSTIN GUARDS The U.T. Austin Guard Force acting directly or through duly authorized U.T. Austin Police Officers.

 

VISITOR A person who is not an employee or officer of the System Administration and who conducts business with and/or who performs a service to System Administration.
