UT System Regents to Hold Special Called Meeting in Austin March 3

AUSTIN – The Board of Regents of The University of Texas System will hold a special called meeting on Wednesday, March 3, in Austin. The meeting will be held on the ninth floor of Ashbel Smith Hall, 201 W. 7th Street.

Out-of-town reporters may view the open sessions of the meeting via a live Webcast [3].

Parking for the news media will be available at the guard kiosk on Colorado Street between 7th and 6th Streets.

The Agenda Book [4] for the meeting is available online.

The Board will convene in open session at approximately 10:00 a.m.; agenda items include:

  • Discussion and appropriate action related to the proposed impact of a 5 percent budget reduction in general revenue
  • Discussion and appropriate action regarding proposed tuition and fee plans for the academic and health institutions, including a presentation on revenue streams, budgetary reductions and cost containment procedures

The Board will recess into executive session at approximately 12:45 p.m. for discussion and appropriate action regarding legal issues, negotiated gifts, real estate and personnel matters.

The Board will reconvene in open session at approximately 2:00 p.m. to consider action, if any, on executive session items and to elect a Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Board.

The meeting will adjourn at approximately 2:30 p.m.
