Hotel Accommodations

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Radisson-Town Lake located at 111 Cesar Chavez and Congress Avenue in downtown Austin  
Please read the following information about the hotel policies. Failure to follow and meet deadlines required at the hotel could result in additional cost to your component institution, as U. T. System will not reimburse for missed cancellation dates and no shows.

         September 9-10, 2011                                            August 9, 2011
        November 18-19, 2011                                           October 18, 2011
           February 3-4, 2012                                               January 3, 2012

Reservation/name changes received after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space available basis at the prevailing rate.

GUEST ROOM RATE:   $104.00 Single Occupancy Rate


Do not make your reservations online.
Each attendee or liaison will be responsible for calling in his/her reservation to the Radisson Hotel direct line at 512 478-9611 by the designated cut-off date 30 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. When calling the hotel to make your reservation, please ask for Group Room Reservation: UT System Student Advisory Council. You may have to ask for Faculty Advisory Council/Student Advisory Council group.


The hotel check-in time is 3:00 pm.  Room assignment prior to that time is on an availability basis. Upon check-in, SAC members will be asked to verify departure date. At that time, scheduled departure dates can be altered. Changes made thereafter will be subject to a $50.00 administrative fee. Departure extensions are based on availability.  Please remember that your component is tax exempt and a tax exemption form or certification should be supplied by you to the hotel at check-in. The form will be on the SharePoint site and we will have some available at the meeting.

Since meetings will begin at 12:00 pm, the Radisson has arranged for your luggage to be held for you prior to check-in.


The hotel check-out time is 12:00 pm. Any requests for later departure must be approved through their front office. Confirmation on late check-out is based on availability


The Radisson has two types of parking.
· Covered parking, at $16.00 per car, per day
· Valet parking is available at $23.00 per car, per day.


Room, taxes and incidental charges are to be paid by each individual upon departure either with credit card, cash or check. Incidental charges will not be reimbursed to your component. Please note that you will be required to guarantee payment of these charges with major credit card or a cash deposit upon check-in.  Your tax exemption form should wave state tax on your room, so please be sure this tax is not included in your room charge.


Please bring your University IDs with you. You must sign in and present an ID in order to gain entrance into Ashbel Smith Hall (ASH). Please note that this building is located at 201 West 7th Street—the meeting is not at the hotel.

ASH (Ashbel Smith Hall) Parking

Should you need to park your vehicle at the meeting, please use the Parking Garage located adjacent to Ashbel Smith Hall located at 300 West 7th Street (Called the 300 West 6th Street Garage, but entrance is at 300 West 7th Street.  You may also check with the Guard Kiosk.  See diagram below).

Wireless Access

The general meeting room (ASH 208), as well as committee rooms, are equipped for wireless access, so feel free to bring your computers.

Meeting Materials

The meeting agendas and any supporting materials will be made available a week before each meeting.
Meeting Tools

We will utilize Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services to help conduct meetings here in Austin and to provide a way to communicate with SAC when the group is not meeting formally.  More information about the SharePoint site will be provided prior to the meeting.
