I love the opportunity to teach young minds and having the potential to make a lasting impact on students' lives.

As an educator, my objective is that students acquire a core understanding of the subject matter, the skillsets that will allow them to continue to hone their learning process, and the passion to identify and actively pursue unresolved issues in the field. I pursue this objective via three learner-oriented goals: 1) to establish a broad foundation that is grounded by a historical perspective as well as current, interdisciplinary thinking; 2) to create a 'desirably difficult' learning environment that continuously challenges students to focus on enhancing conceptual knowledge; and 3) to encourage critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and problem solving by discussing not only what we know about the subject matter, but also what we do not know as yet.
