The IDF alerts STTM to an invention and introduces the invention and the inventors to the office. This new IDF replaces the old form.

Inventorship is a legal determination that must follow patent law in order to support the validity of an issued patent. Read, "Who Should Be Listed as an Inventor?," as it can assist you and your colleagues in determining whether they should be considered inventors.

Patent License Agreement (PLA) (in review)

This agreement contains the custom financial and business terms for each particular patent license, as well as the legal terms and conditions applicable to the license grant (attached as an exhibit to the Patent License Agreement).

Option Agreement (in review)
Outlines the rights and terms of the Board of Regents and the inventor(s) associated with the invention's ownership.

Inter-Institutional Agreement

This IIA (Inter-Institutional Agreement) has been offered as a boilerplate document to other institutions. This document is the agreement, which is to be completed with the names of the parties, information about the patent rights, and the unique business terms of the relationship. The legal terms and conditions are attached as an exhibit.
