Strategic Leadership Council
The Strategic Leadership Council (SLC) provides leadership for System-wide IT initiatives. The group is responsible for defining IT management guiding principles and policies, including how technology standards will be set and adherence monitored. The SLC fosters collaboration among the 9 Academic and 6 Health institutions.
Information Technology Council for Higher Education (ITCHE)
ITCHE reviews proposed rules relating to higher education and makes recommendations and comments to the Department of Information Resources.
Shared Data Center Board (SDC)
The board is divided among the Governing Board and the Operations Oversight Committee. The Governing Board is responsible for setting business and strategy decisions including: initial funding, budgets and recovery rate; reviewing performance and agreements on a periodic basis; and coordinating long-term objectives. The Operations Oversight Committe is responsible for setting operational and technical decisisions including: establishing initial operations; reviewing operations, service levels and usage/cost metrics on a periodic basis; benchmarking operational performance; and coordinating IT principles, architecture, infrastructure and investments. The Shared Data Center (SDC) provides high reliability data center space for all 15 institutions and minimizes increases in operating costs. In addition, the centers, will provide secure data backup, disaster recovery and business continuity and allow for consolidation of institutional primary data centers as appropriate.
Network Advisory Group (NAG)
The Network Advisory Group provides a vision for the state wide network. This group sets the vision and watches the interest of UT in networking. This group holds regular audio conferences and advises the Office of Telecommunication Services (OTS) on the UT System Network. This group is chaired by Jim Gary, Ph.D., UT Dallas.
UT Information Security Council (UT ISC)
The UT ISC protects the information assets of the University of Texas System by promoting the exchange of security information, developing and sharing information security tools, promoting cost effective common solutions to information security problems and vulnerabilities, and advising the Associate Vice Chancellor and CIO when requested or when there is a need.
InfoSec
InfoSec is the information security council. As originally created by Frank S. Stafford, Ph.D., UTHSCSA, it is a quarterly information exchange for IT security professionals, auditors, and other IT professionals for UT instututions. The meetings generally consist of a half day of vendor technical (non-sales) presentations and a day of presentations by UT personnel.
MultiMedia
Multimedia is a subcommittee of SLC charged with the use of multimedia technology in support of the mission of the UT System. As such, it considers how multimedia technology can aid learners and instructors as well as patients and healthcare practitioners. Most of the work activity is executed collaboratively via email, list serves, and videoconference.

Web Publishing
Web Publishing is an information exchange between web developers and publishers across UT System. Meetings are held bi-annually and hosted by various institutions on a volunteer basis.
