Contracted Airfares
The State Comptroller of Public Accounts has negotiated airline contracts effective
June 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009.
A list of awards can be found on the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts web site. Please note that city-pairs on the site are listed in alphabetical order, shown as one-way, and do not include airport fees, security fees and other charges added to the base ticket price.
Making Reservations
Reservations should be confirmed by calling U.T. System Administration's contracted travel agencies or by accessing an approved U.T. System online booking tool (Quick Trip/SWABIZ).
Travel by Private Aircraft
Employees may be reimbursed for travel in personally owned or leased aircraft are the rate of 40 cents per highway mile for single engine aircraft and 50 cents per highway mile for twin engine. An employee may be reimbursed for the cost of renting or chartering an aircraft if the Texas Department of Transportation Aviation Division provides written approval. An employee may rent or charter an aircraft if a state-owned aircraft is not available or if the rental would reduce the cost of transportation.
Airfares Centrally Billed
Only airfares obtained through U.T. System's travel agencies or online booking tools are centrally billed, thus not requiring an outlay of an employee's funds. Airfare paid for by the employee may not be reimbursed until after the trip is taken.
