Access SharePoint Without Logging In Each Time
SharePoint 2007 is a secure application, but to save you time it uses the same login information that you use to login to the UT System Administration network: your SNAC and SNAC password. All you have to do is tell your internet browser (ideally, Internet Explorer) to "trust" SharePoint as a site and to use your existing login information to get you into SharePoint. Here's how:
Step One: Set Trusted Sites In Internet Explorer (SharePoint works best in Internet Explorer):
- From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options. Select the Security Tab.
- Click on Local Intranet, click on Sites. Choose the Advanced button.
- In "Add this web site to the zone," add the following urls:
https://moss.utsystem.edu
https://mysites.utsystem.edu
|
 |
Step Two: Define Custom Level Settings for the Trusted Sites zone.
- After you’ve clicked OK, you will return to the Security Tab. Under Security Level for this Zone, select the Custom Level button.
- Scroll down to the bottom of this list, you are looking for User Authentication.
- Choose Automatic Logon only in intranet zone.
You should now be able to access your SharePoint 2007 sites without having to login.

Access SharePoint on an As-Needed Basis
If you do not want to configure Internet Explorer as described above, you can log into SharePoint 2007 by using your UT System Administration SNAC ID and password. Be sure to put "utsystem\" in front of your ID.
