Instructor: Mary Esther Middleton

Mary Esther teaches a gentle, nurturing and eclectic style of yoga.  She is a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level, training with the Living Yoga Program, here in Austin TX.  She teachers from the heart, with compassion and humor while blending breathing and stretching techniques that enable you to enhance and explore your mind and body awareness.  She encourages you as you become more limber and relaxed by first quieting the mind, then listening to your body to see exactly what you need in any given moment.

Yoga: Yoga when used as a form of alternative medicine is a combination of breathing exercises, physical postures, and meditation, practiced for over 5,000 years. Yoga is believed to calm the nervous system and balance the body, mind, and spirit. The word "Yoga" means union in Sanskrit (union of body and spirit). Yoga consists of stretching, breathing, and relaxation exercises that are designed to lead to a balanced body, mind and spirit. It can be practiced by most everyone and is one of the oldest forms of exercise, stress management and personal development.
