United to Serve - UT System Volunteer Opportunity

United to Serve

Looking to help your community?  Looking for an opportunity to distinguish System Administration from the other institutions?  Great, then United To Serve is just your thing!!

United to Serve is a system-wide volunteer initiative which includes students, administrators, faculty and staff.  It is held in conjunction with the National Volunteer Week, and serves as a platform to partner with local non-profit organizations and respond to the needs of the community.

This year, UT System Administration is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), whose mission is “Creating a Home Away from Home for Families.” In 2011 Austin’s Ronald McDonald House served 1,307 families for a total of 7,884 nights.  Included in their stay are home-cooked meals, and we are currently accepting volunteers to prepare dinners for about 40 people.

Mark your calendars for Monday April 22nd, starting at 4 pm. For those of you who are not able to volunteer but would like to support the cause, we are also accepting donations towards the purchase of groceries.  Please coordinate your attendance and/or donation with Jennifer Barker either by phone at 579-5180 or email at

Kind Regards,

Your UT System External Relations
