UT System Regents Appoint Members of UTIMCO Board of Directors

AUSTIN – The University of Texas System Board of Regents today reappointed Charles W. Tate of Houston and appointed James P. Wilson of Sugar Land to the Board of Directors of The University of Texas Investment Management Co. (UTIMCO).

Tate was initially appointed to the UTIMCO Board of Directors in 2004. He chairs the Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit and Ethics Committee. Tate is chairman and founding partner of Capital Royalty, L.P., and former managing partner of Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst, Inc. He serves on the executive committee of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas and is a member of the University of Texas at Austin Development Board; the University Cancer Foundation Board of Visitors and Strategic Advisory Committee for the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center; and the Board of Overseers of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Wilson is vice chairman of The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. He is a managing director of Rock Hill Capital Group, a Houston-based private equity firm. Prior to joining Rock Hill Capital, Wilson was a founder and managing partner of RSTW Partners, an investment management firm founded in 1990. He is a member of the Mays Business School Development Board and is the Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the 12th Man Foundation of Texas A&M University.  He succeeds former UTIMCO Board of Directors Chairman Erle Nye of Dallas whose term expired.
