AUSTIN, TEXAS – The University of Texas System institutions earned several top rankings in U.S. News and World Report’s most recent partial rankings of “Best Graduate Schools” in the U.S. According to U.S. News, the rankings for engineering, medicine and psychology will be released at a later date.

The Trauma Research and Combat Casualty Care Collaborative (TRC4), an initiative of The University of Texas System (UT System), today announced grant awards totaling $18,037,863. These grants will fund groundbreaking trauma research, product development, and preventative measures across UT institutions.

Following a special called meeting of the University of Texas System Board of Regents today, Chairman Kevin P. Eltife announced a unanimous vote to name Julie V. Philley, MD – currently executive vice president for health affairs and vice provost at the University of Texas at Tyler – as a finalist to be considered for UT Tyler’s next presidency.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – In a special called meeting on March 18, The University of Texas System Board of Regents unanimously approved Neal Weaver, Ph.D., as the new president of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Weaver, who has served as president of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) since 2017, will officially begin his new appointment in mid-May.
