Texas State CapitolThe 85th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature ended on Monday, May 29th. The UT System Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) is working through some final reviews to determine what impact changes made during the session will have on the UT Benefits program. Based on what we've seen so far, we anticipate only a limited number of changes for the upcoming plan year which will primarily expand coverage and administrative options.

Within the next few weeks, based on expected funding and other requirements, OEB expects to finalize the UT SELECT Medical plan design and premium levels for the upcoming 2017-2018 plan year. Our focus is always on keeping your out-of-pocket costs as low as possible while providing robust protection for you and your family. Final decisions always seek to balance the coverage needs of all eligible employees and retirees at each UT institution and their eligible family members. OEB will be providing detailed information soon about the UT SELECT Medical plan and your other UT Benefits for the upcoming plan year.

It’s important for you to keep your contact information (particularly email addresses) up to date throughout the year, especially during the Annual Enrollment period. This helps us keep you up to date on changes affecting your your UT Benefits program. If you know of other employees or retirees who are not receiving this newsletter electronically, please encourage them to contact the HR or Benefits office at their institution to update their email address.
