Two-Factor Authentication

Main page content

Nearly 95% of all attacks on enterprise networks are the result of a successful phishing email. Using web-based email and hacked UT System credentials, a cybercriminal can login to a UT System account from any internet-connected device, from any country in the world.

A password alone will not protect sensitive information from hackers – another layer of security is needed to ensure unauthorized users do not gain access to UT System accounts. Two-factor authentication (2FA) supplements passwords to provide a UT System account with a second layer of security.
