Stephanie A. Bond Huie, Ph.D.

STEPHANIE A. BOND HUIE, Ph.D., is vice chancellor for the Office of Strategic Initiatives for The University of Texas System. One of seven Executive Officers for UT System, Dr. Huie leads a team of research and policy analysts to transform data into timely and meaningful information to support UT System initiatives and policy decisions across its 14 institutions and to enhance insight, transparency, and accountability.

Dr. Huie provides guidance to the OSI team to develop metrics that align with the Chancellor's and Board of Regents’ strategic vision, including recommendations for goal-setting and benchmarking analyses to aid policymakers, campus leaders, and system leaders in strategic decision-making. In addition, she is responsible for monitoring higher education issues at the System, state, and national levels and for making recommendations on trends and best practices in higher education – particularly as they relate to data-informed policy-making, transparency, and performance metrics.

Most notably, Dr. Huie oversees the development and implementation of the UT System Dashboard (data.utsystem.edu), a web-based business intelligence system that provides analytics for policy decisions and measures productivity and accountability in higher education. She also developed a first-of-its-kind partnership with the United States Census Bureau to obtain national wage data for all UT System graduates. This data is presented through seekUT® (seekUT.utsystem.edu), a free online tool that provides post-graduation outcomes of UT System graduates by program of study.

Before Dr. Huie joined The University of Texas System, she served in several roles at Huston-Tillotson University: interim associate provost for academic affairs, director of the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, and accreditation liaison. She led major university initiatives such as revision of the strategic plan and successful application for reaffirmation with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). She was responsible for academic support services including distance learning, academic advising, student tutoring, and supplemental instruction.

Prior to her work in higher education administration, Dr. Huie worked as a research professional for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and for Southwestern Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL).

Dr. Huie's undergraduate degree is in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also received her master's and doctoral degrees in sociology. She is a graduate of Harvard University's Institute for Education Management and has completed the planning certification program through the Society for College and University Planners (SCUP).
