Arthur J. Gallagher Management Liability Practice
John Ergastolo is a managing director for the management liability practice of Arthur J. Gallagher and has been with Gallagher since 1999. Mr. Ergastolo’s focus is on public, private and nonprofit management liability exposure analysis and product placement. During his time at Gallagher, Mr. Ergastolo has become recognized as the national D&O specialist for risk management accounts, working with Gallagher offices across the country on large accounts, including Fortune 500’s.
Mr. Ergastolo specializes in tailoring new and existing D&O and EPLI programs to meet the specific needs and requirements of his clients. This process requires a thorough understanding of the exposures of the client and the coverage available to properly address the risk transfer needs of the client. A critical component of this assessment is determining proper limits of liability, which is accomplished through objective analysis of claims trends, maximum potential loss models, and analysis of peer group statistics.
Prior to joining Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., he underwrote Directors’ & Officers’ Liability (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), and Fiduciary Liability for the National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA (AIG) management liability division. Mr. Ergastolo’s experience at AIG included underwriting publicly traded companies (including IPO’s), privately held companies, and not for profit entities.
Mr. Ergastolo has a BS in science and finance with a minor in management from DePaul University.
