Mark L. Schaeffer, CSP, ARM, CRIS, CFPS

Mark has more than 25 years of experience providing comprehensive safety, health, environmental, and fire protection services throughout a wide range of industries. His employment includes work in construction, maintenance, plastics, education facilities, electric generation, and petro-chemical operations. He has been directly involved in the evaluation, development, and implementation of risk control procedures and programs, hazard analysis and prevention design, fire prevention and protection, employee education development and presentation, and emergency response.
Prior to Mark’s employment with the Office of Facilities Planning and Construction, he spent 11 years as the lead consultant for The University of Texas System Owner Controlled Insurance Program.
Mark holds several degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas including a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), and Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). He is a professional member of several safety, industrial hygiene, and fire protection organizations.
