Sec. 1 Honorary Titles. 

The titles Chancellor Emeritus, President Emeritus, and similar honorary designations shall be conferred only by appropriate action of the Board of Regents on individuals who are fully retired. No person is authorized to use any such title unless it has been bestowed by the Board. 

Sec. 2 Honorary Degrees. 

In accordance with long-standing Board of Regents tradition, honorary degrees may be awarded only to a sitting President of the United States. Award of an honorary degree is to be reported to the Board at the next regular meeting of the Board.
