New Billing System

As mentioned in July’s Annual Enrollment newsletter, CNA, the Long Term Care (LTC) insurance provider, is changing to a new billing system effective September 1, 2016. For employees enrolled in LTC insurance, your monthly premium will no longer be paid through payroll deduction. Instead, CNA will send you a billing statement for premiums to be paid on a quarterly basis. You will receive your first bill by mid-October 2016. Your plan coverage and features will remain the same, as long as you continue to pay your premiums. For questions about billing, please call CNA’s Customer Service Center at (888) 825-0353.

New Rates Effective September 2017

CNA has announced premium rate increases for current enrollees starting September 1, 2017. The upcoming rate increase is the result of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) approving CNA’s request to increase rates a total of about 95.5% over a two-year period. For questions specifically about the rate increase, please contact CNA’s Rate Increase Customer Service Office at (877) 838-8508.

Please Note: Should you wish to drop your CNA LTC coverage as a result of either the change in billing processes or due to the rate increase set to go into effect on September 1, 2017, you can cancel your coverage by writing “Cancel” on the bill you receive from CNA and returning it to CNA.

For participants who have been in the plan for at least three years, you may be entitled to a future benefit even if you discontinue the coverage. Please contact CNA for more information.
