New website and iPad app make UT data even more accessible

The University of Texas System has launched a new website and iPad application to provide better and more user-friendly access to data about the 15 UT academic and health institutions.

The new website is part of the UT System Productivity Dashboard and provides reports about enrollment, graduation rates, tuition and fees, student debt, research expenditures, revenue, technology transfer, and patient care.

In addition, an iPad app is now available through SAS, a business analytics software company. The app, called SAS BI, is available for free from the Apple App store. To download the reports, follow these video or written instructions.

“This is the next evolution of the Productivity Dashboard, and it presents information in a format that is literally at your fingertips,” said Stephanie Huie, interim vice chancellor for strategic initiatives. “Using the latest technology in visual analytics, we have created a series of attractive reports that allow you to interact with the data.”

About a year ago, the UT System unveiled the Productivity Dashboard, a comprehensive website that offers the public an unprecedented look at how institutions are performing on a variety of measures. The dashboard was produced as part of Chancellor Francisco G. Cigarroas “Framework Action Plan” to advance excellence at UT institutions and serve as a national model for transparency in higher education.

The dashboard is an evolving website that is continually expanded and enhanced, and more reports are expected to be added soon, Huie said.
