UT System’s University Lands endorses Dark Skies Initiative

HOUSTON – The University of Texas System’s University Lands Office joined key industry associations recently in formally announcing its support of the McDonald Observatory’s Dark Skies Initiative.

We commemorate the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who dedicated himself to the struggle for equality, justice, and opportunity for all Americans.

Dr. King’s words and deeds continue to inspire us, a half century after his death.  But equally important, his teachings provide a sobering reminder of the distance between the values we share as Americans and the day-to-day reality for too many of our neighbors.

Chancellor Milliken begins implementation of Board of Regents’ Task Force Report on System Administration

Following an organizational assessment of The University of Texas System Administration led by a task force of four regents, Chancellor James B. Milliken has begun implementation of the task force recommendations.

The UT System mourns the loss of John Mendelsohn, president emeritus of UT MD Anderson and a great humanitarian who set the gold standard for cancer care, compassion, leadership, and kindness. His style and brilliance inspired everyone with whom he worked to be the best they could be. His beneficiaries include patients and families from all over the world, whose lives were made better not only by his discoveries and treatments, but by the dignity and sincerity with which he treated everyone.

UT institutions produce more than 20,000 new graduates at fall commencements

The University of Texas System’s eight academic institutions recently held commencement ceremonies, celebrating more than 22,000 new graduates who successfully completed their college careers in December.
