Jonathan C. Pruitt, MPA

Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer

Jonathan Pruitt joined The University of Texas System in March 2022 and serves as the chief business officer for the UT System overseeing financial operations of the nine academic and four health institutions and System Administration. He directs the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon UT System strategic goals and growth objectives; directs all debt financing for the System, manages the Permanent University Fund (PUF) lands, supervises UT System employee benefit and risk management programs, and manages shared services functions. Pruitt oversees management of the following System Administration offices: Finance, Budget and Planning, Controller, Employee Benefits, Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of Risk Management, Talent and Innovation, Capital Projects, HUB Programs, Real Estate, University Lands, and Collaborative Business Services.

Cristina Blanton

Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff

Cristina Blanton joined the Office of Business Affairs in February 2026.  Cristina brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight from her nine years at UT System, where she built and matured a comprehensive privacy and data protection program while fostering strong, collaborative, systemwide community of practice. Cristina has been a trusted and essential partner to the UT Health Intelligence Platform, the Texas Children’s Mental Healthcare Consortium, and numerous other critical system initiatives.

Cristina serves as a strategic advisor to EVC Pruitt, providing leadership and direction across key functions within the Office of Business Affairs. Cristina plays a central role in shaping operational strategy, advancing innovation, and strengthening cross-functional collaboration to support the evolving needs of the UT System. 
 

Laura Egmon

Assistant to the Executive Officer

Laura Egmon joined the Office of Business Affairs in September 2022.  Prior to this role, Laura spent 22 years working for the Office of Facilities Planning and Construction and the Office of the Controller within the UT System. She has served on a variety of committees and currently serves on the UT System Staff Council. Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication from The University of Texas at Austin and completed the UT System Management and Leadership Development Program.
