UT-HIP Team Spotlight: Munaf Noorani

Meet Munaf Noorani!

Raghu Kolli Headshot

What is your home institution?

The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School

How long have you been with UT-HIP?

3+ years

Where are you located?

Atlanta, GA

What inspired you to join the team?

I started working with UT-HIP when it was a jump server at MD Anderson, we were onboarding OEB data and HRI connections into Epic Constellation, and had Vizient data at UT Houston. Seeing the possibility and power of leveraging the data from our institutions as well as working with the health plan to improve care provided for our own members and the greater population keeps me motivated day-to-day.

What is your favorite thing about working with UT-HIP?
My favorite thing about working with UT-HIP is being able to work with largely diverse data across our institutions and being able to interact with those doing great work at each site. Additionally, being able to work on large scale claims related projects like TPI and working with the OEB data allow insight into the continuum of care and how policy and strategy may impact treatment.
What is your role and how do you support UT-HIP?
My role is a platform and data engineer on UT-HIP, but because of my background and previous work I am utilized in multiple places. My primary roles now are working with the OEB Claims data, the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative (TPI) analytics with data across Texas, supporting inbound requests for projects looking to leverage UT-HIP resources, and continuing to onboard HRI data into UT-HIP's Azure Fabric infrastructure.
