What are your primary job responsibilities?

As a member of the General Law section, I assist and advise our academic and health institutions on a variety of legal issues ranging from employment law, litigation, due process, Title IX and everything in between. I also serve as plan counsel for our Office of Employee Benefits.

What do you most enjoy about your job?

It's hard to pick just one! I love working for an organization that truly strives to improve people's lives, not just in Texas but around the world. I also enjoy the wide range of areas I get to work on every day. No two days are the same, and I am constantly learning more about the awesome work being done at our institutions.

What advice would you give someone who is new to UT System?

Don't be afraid to ask for help. I am incredibly fortunate to work with so many talented colleagues, a lot of whom are experts in their fields, and anytime I've needed help or advice, they are more than willing to lend a hand. Not only are they great at their jobs, they're also wonderful people. Teamwork makes the dream work, and that is 100% true at OGC and at the UT System.

What do you do to disconnect or de-stress?

I'm a big fan of anything food-related! From grocery shopping, cooking, trying new restaurants, eating, taking pictures of food and even writing restaurant reviews. Look for me on Yelp! Outside of that, I love spending time with my wife and hanging out with our 3-year-old son and newborn daughter.

Who is currently playing on your Spotify playlist?

My toddler has hijacked my Spotify, so there's way more Blippi and Cocomelon than I would like. My playlists include some Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Vance Joy, Leon Bridges and the Goo Goo Dolls. There's also a bit of 90s pop for when I'm feeling nostalgic.
