October 1 – October 31
The State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) offers an easy, convenient way for state employees to contribute through payroll deductions to charitable organizations that support those in need locally and across Texas. The UT System Administration Staff Council has scheduled a variety of fun events in October to encourage participation.
Weekly Trivia/Bingo
Wednesdays in October: 10/6, 10/13 and 10/20, 3:30 - 4:00 pm
Staff Council is holding virtual trivia & bingo on alternating weeks. They will be hosted by this year’s SECC Chair Katie McCormick. Test your knowledge & find out which department knows the most. Seasonal Comfort Recipe Book
Email Staff Council your favorite seasonal comfort recipes using ingredients that are mainstays of your kitchen. All recipes will be collected & made available on the UT System Staff Council site for creative kitchen inspiration. Submit your recipes through noon on Friday, October 29.
Pumpkin Carving Contest
Email Staff Council a picture of your carved or decorated pumpkins. You can submit entries under categories of individual carved, individual decorated, or departmental (carved and/or decorated). Multiple entries are allowed! The deadline is Thursday, October 28, at 4:00 pm. Winner to be chosen by popular vote! Voting takes place online Friday, October 29, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Scavenger Hunt in Halloween Costume
The campaign finale is a Virtual Scavenger Hunt! Come dressed in your favorite costume and collect items around your home or work area. Be the first to complete the challenge or show off something unique to win points!
