Envisioning a Brighter Future for Texas

The University of Texas System and this year’s host institutions are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for the 2025 UT System AI Symposium in Healthcare; a premier gathering to view the current and future potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform medicine and medical research. This event will provide a unique platform for distinguished speakers and experts to share their latest AI research, innovations, and insights. We invite researchers, clinicians, educators, administrators, and trainees from across UT System to submit their abstracts for consideration at this exciting Symposium.

Symposium Focus:

The 2025 UT System AI Symposium in Healthcare aims to explore the diverse applications of AI across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to:

  1. AI in Industry: AI-driven approaches in industry and entrepreneurship.
  2. AI in Research: Use to support data science, clinical trials recruitment, implementation science and population health.
  3. Evolving AI Methodologies: Including Natural Language Processing, image interpretation, predictive analytic modeling techniques and generative AI.
  4. AI in Clinical Care: Cutting-edge AI technologies for disease diagnosis, predictive analytics, quality monitoring and improvement and clinical decision support.
  5. AI in Hospital Operations: AI is evolving to improve communications with patients, Charting, care monitoring and billing practices.
  6. Evolving Roles for AI in Medical and Graduate Education: Application processing, student education, simulation training, and student evaluation.
  7. AI Governance and Regulation: Ongoing AI evaluation and validation strategies; need to consider ethical and bias considerations in AI.

Presentation Formats: A multi-institutional panel of experts will grade all abstracts. All selected abstracts will be presented as posters. Posters are vertical orientation and limited to 36”x48”. A small number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentations and a small number of abstracts from trainees will be selected for travel awards. Note: all poster and oral presentations must be in person (there is no virtual presentation option).

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: April 11, 2025
  • Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: April 18, 2025
    Deadline extended due to high interest. There’s still time to submit!
  • Notification of Acceptance: April 30, 2025
  • Symposium Date: May 15 & 16, 2025
  • Location: 7255 Helix Park Ave, Houston, TX 77030
  • Time: Symposium will begin at 8 am on Thursday, May 15 with the Poster Presentation Showcase scheduled for 5pm. 

Travel Award:

We are pleased to offer a $200 Travel Award for selected abstracts
