Veronica Hinojosa-Segura

Veronica Hinojosa Segura is the Associate Vice Chancellor & Controller for The University of Texas System.  As Controller Ms. Hinojosa Segura has System-wide responsibility for the oversight of accounting activities and financial reporting for the institutions under UT System, with a consolidated net position of $45 Billion and a $20 Billion operating budget.  In addition, Veronica manages all shared services functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and aircraft services. 

Prior to joining the U T System, Veronica was the President / CEO of the Ascension DePaul Services of San Antonio.  As CEO, Ms. Segura had direct oversight of the Community Health Ministry which offered dental, behavioral health, and medical services, early childhood development centers, social services, and a wellness center. 

Previous roles for Ms. Hinojosa Segura include Chief Operating Officer for the Ascension Texas - Seton Foundations. As COO she was responsible for all operating functions related to fund development activities for Ascension Seton’s eleven hospitals which fall under 4 separate foundations with assets totaling $120M and fundraising activity of approximately $206 million during her tenure.

Prior to joining Ascension Seton, Ms. Hinojosa Segura was a CFO for the Texas Water Development Board where she managed an $8 Billion municipal bond portfolio, was responsible for all strategic and legislative initiatives, and managed an executive staff.  She also worked at Dell Computer as the Global Treasurer with oversight of various global finance and treasury roles supporting numerous international Treasury sites.

Ms. Hinojosa Segura earned a degree in Finance from Texas A&M-Kingsville and her MBA from St. Edwards University. Veronica enjoys giving back to the community and is currently the Chair Elect and Treasurer for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of the Hispanic Chamber Foundation.  She has served as Chair for Con Mi Madre, YWCA of Austin, and co-chair of the St. Andrews Parent Diversity Council.
