1) What health behavior did you change?

A group of people came together to get into a habitual walking habit.

2) Why did you decide to make this change?

It lead the group to help reduce stress and refresh their day.

3) How did you accomplish your success?

It all started last February during the American Heart Association Heart Walk initiative to take 10 at 10. This gave the group a simple goal of walking for 10 minutes at 10 AM.

4) How did UT System Living Well or your Institution’s resources and tools help you?

The institution encouraged everyone from multiple campus to take the time out of our busy day and support the AHA initiative. The group felt so good afterward they continued the program.

5) What goals and obstacles did you have?

The goal was to just get a group of people together to support a good cause. It was just to bring awareness of Heart Health and the benefits of walking. There were no real obstacles other than just pulling away from your normal routine.

6) Who supported you during this experience?

It was supported by leadership of the campus all the way up to the President.

7) What advice do you have for others who want to make this change?

Just get into any program of healthier living and stick with it.
