Organizations 

Association of Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC): AAALAC is non-profit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditaiton and assessment. The organization seeks to enhance the quality of research, teaching and testing by promoting humane responsible animal care and use.

Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP): AAHRPP is a non-profit body that strengthens organizations human research protection programs through the accrediation process. The organization uses a peer-driven process to meet rigorous standards for quality. To receive accreditation from AAHRPP an organizations must provide evidence of the commitment to ethical research and continious improvement.

Council on Governmental Relations (COGR): COGR is an association of research universities and is involved with the development of policies related to financial and administrative aspects of federally funded research.

Federal Demonstration Project: The Federal Demonstration Project is an initiative among 10 federal agencies and 119 institutional recipients of federal funds for Phase V. The purpose of the project is to reduce the administrative burdens associated with research grants and contracts. This unique endeavor allows individuals from universities and nonprofit organizations to work collaboratively with federal agencies to improve the national research enterprise.  

Flexibility Coalition: The Flexibility Coalition consists of institutional members from across the nation that have achieved a more flexible approach to the burdensome federal requirements surrounding human subjects research by simplifying the review of studies. The coalition seeks to identify additional areas of flexibility that can be implemented without diminishing the protection of human subjects.

National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA): NCURA serves the members and advances the field of research administration through sharing knowledge and experience, education and professional development programs, as well as fostering a professional, collegial, and respected community.

Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) PRIM&R provides education and professional development programs on a range of issues surrounding research involving human subjects and animals.
