UTINFOSEC Community
UTINFOSEC is a collaborative community originally founded by Frank S. Stafford, Ph.D. (formerly of the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio), and built by and for University of Texas System Information Security, IT, and IT Audit professionals. What began as a 1.5-day conference held twice a year has grown into a 2.5-day annual event, reflecting both the expanding reach of the community and the ever-increasing complexity of the challenges we navigate together. Today, UTINFOSEC continues to be coordinated by the UT System Office of Information Security.
Each conference brings together approximately 100 to 150 attendees from across UT institutions, including chief information security officers (CISOs), chief information officers (CIOs), information security analysts, IT staff, IT auditors, and compliance professionals. Sessions cover a wide range of technology topics with a focus on information security, including presentations on real-world use cases, panel discussions on shared security challenges, and updates on institutional initiatives. For those unable to attend in person, sessions are live-streamed to ensure broad participation across the UT System.
