UTINFOSEC
UTINFOSEC is a collaborative initiative created by and for University of Texas System Information Security, IT, and IT Audit staff to exchange ideas, best practices, and discuss trends on a wide variety of technology-related topics, with a focus on information security. Conferences are held twice per year. Agenda items usually include presentations on technology use cases, panel discussions on addressing common security issues, and updates on institutional initiatives.
Originally created by Frank S. Stafford, Ph.D. (formerly of the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio), the UTINFOSEC is coordinated by the U.T. System Office of Information Security. The biannual conferences typically include approximately 80-100 attendees comprised of U.T. institution chief information security officers (CISOs), chief information officers (CIOs), information security analysts, IT staff, IT auditors and compliance staff. Sessions are live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
Conference Schedule for 2023
A hybrid (in-person & online) conference is scheduled for April 25-26 at the Grand Galvez Hotel in Galveston, TX. Sponsorship information can be found here. For more information about the UTINFOSEC Spring 2023 Conference, contact Becki Mendivil.
