Event Description

Gifts through trusts and estate plans are an important part of an institution's balanced fundraising program. Estate gifts are often the largest gifts donors make to your institution, and they rely on your institution to carry out the intent of their bequests. As such trusts and estate gifts require additional guidance. In this presentation learn which gifts can be accepted at the institutional level and which must come to the Board of Regents, discover resources for assistance in crafting estate gift language, follow the process from notification to realization. Topics will include how to handle gifts from trusts, bequests, IRA and life insurance beneficiary designations, and real and personal property.

Who Should Attend : Target audience - Advancement Services professionals involved in the administration of planned gifts at the institutional level; Planned Giving Officer or other Gift Officers working with donors on these gifts.

Presenters Andria Brannon, Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement Services and Karoline Felts, Associate Director for Estates & Trusts.
