Know your students. Understand what interests and motivates them. Every student can make you a better teacher.

My teachers were primarily Irish nuns, who taught with a conviction and fervor that extended beyond catechism topics to mathematics, science, literature, culture, etc. At an early age I was impressed by their zealousness and adopted their style, that is, to teach passionately but with compassion.
