I remind myself and my students that "professional" doesn't mean perfect; "teacher" doesn't mean right; and "leader" always means one of a group.

As mentors and teachers of health care providers in the 21st century, we must often face very hard things with our students and our patients. As we do so, we must learn to do our very best in a way that can be sustained over a lifetime. I remind myself and my students that "professional" doesn't mean perfect; "teacher" doesn't mean right; and "leader" always means one of a group.
