James Adams is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Sound Recording Technology at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA). Professor Adams is a dedicated educator, music technologist, producer, engineer, and musician. In addition to his teaching and administrative duties, he enjoys collaborating on recording projects, mentoring students, recording and producing music, and working with production companies to create interactive music experiences for live venues and festivals. He also developed the first graduate programs in sound recording technology and music production in the state of Texas and was intricately involved in the design and implementation of SFA’s world-class educational recording facilities. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting with family and friends, playing guitar, researching new recording technologies, composing, and playing video games.
