The Office of External Relations, Communications and Advancement Services connects The University of Texas System with the public through strategic communication and interaction. With four areas of expertise, External Relations, Communications, and Advancement Services is prepared to assist and collaborate with each of the 14 UT institutions and UT System administrative offices to provide the public with an array of resources.
Gift Administration, Compliance and Advancement Services supports the fundraising efforts of the UT institutions and encourages private support for the chancellor’s initiatives by providing experienced counsel and centralized functions as they relate to gifts, endowment management, compliance and stewardship, naming opportunities and estate and trust administration.
The Communications & Media Relations is responsible for developing and overseeing The University of Texas System’s efforts to inform and engage constituents on a timely basis. The media relations team works directly with local, state and national journalists and all UT institutions to respond to incoming media requests and to convey initiatives of the UT System and UT institutions. It is also engaged in official communications on behalf of the Chancellor’s Office and Office of the Board of Regents. The communications, digital & web services and creative services teams assist all UT System executive offices and departments. The teams administer and manage the UT System website and all other digital and print media, and collaborate with colleagues at UT institutions and System Administration to lead, implement and maintain top-level communications.
The Center for Enhancing Philanthropy (CEP) advances the missions of the UT System and UT institutions as a cost-effective strategic partner to strengthen fundraising programs and expand the role of philanthropy. The Center accomplishes its purpose by providing data and assessments that reveal industry best practices, system-wide benchmarking, and tailored analyses for data-driven decision making. CEP also runs the Advancement Academy, a highly-rated professional development program that offers customized training to develop and retain quality advancement professionals.
The Office of Events plans and implements special events for The University of Texas System Board of Regents, Chancellor and other UT System officials. The Events team also works with System offices with event logistics and protocol and collaborates with UT institutions and staff members on planning and executing official and special events.
